How can I return my cable router to Vodafone?

Hi!

Some time ago I started using my own cable router instead of the default provided by Vodafone. I don't want to keep the old one at home so I would be happy to return it to Vodafone - what's the best way to do that?
To which address to send it and what information to attach?

It depends on the federal state in which your contract is running.

In North Rhine-Westphalia, Hesse or Baden Württemberg, the provider device has to be returned anyway after activating your own device; you will also be asked in writing to do so.

In the rest of Germany, however, you have to keep the provider device because it has to be connected in the event of a malfunction and must remain connected until it is rectified.

I'm in Berlin.

Do you mean that if I keep the contract for next 10 years I should also keep the Vodafone device all that time?

What happens when they decide to change the standard to the next DOCSIS version for example?

Hi yvvan,

please keep the router with you. This may be needed in case we have to check your connection due to a malfunction.
