IPv6 host exposure does not work until firewall is off.

Hello,

I am trying to expose a service running on a particular port using host exposure on Vodafone station.

However I can see this port only when firewall is disabled.
I assume, I am not missing something here.

But i was expecting exposing the port will create relevant changes in firewall as well.
Could someone guide me in right direction to make this work?

Hello @badjatya,

it is not possible to deactivate the firewall for selective IPs.

The FritzBox from our HomeBox Option might be the better choice for the task.

Hello @J0hann
So, does it mean, Host exposure option in Vodafone station is useless?

I do not want to deactivate the firewall for obvious reasons.

I was expecting host exposure option to allow connection to selected devices on selected port.

Even if it is not possible to deactivate the firewall for selective IPs, in that case all devices may be exposed on same port.

Though selection of devices option in host exposure pop-up suggests that firewall will add rule to allow connection on selected port or port range for the selected device.

Thank you for your time guys!

I will look into buying my own FritzBox then.

So, I have got a new FRITZ!Box 6690.

now, what is the procedure to replace the old Vodafone station to FRITZ!Box.

Can I make this change using my account/vodafone app?
