Hello everyone:

Recently applied a DSL plan from Vodafone and trying to set my ASUS AC68U as the modem/router, since I cannot speak German, have difficulties to reach out to Vodafone customer services, some said will arrange an English speaking personnel to contact me back but it never happen, so want to see if anyone here can give me guidence.

Had search though the forum here, found some AC68U related topic but none of those can apply to my condition.

Also reached out to ASUS Germany, they asked me to found out some DSL details from Vodafone, have waited Vodafone for reply in many way for a long time, so hopes here someone can give me an answer.

suitation:

-using a TAE-F to 6PAC cable to connect from telephone port to the DSL port of router.

-when Vodafone team come to setup, they show me the connect with their portable device (not sure what is that but is not a router), showed the signal is good with 2xxMb speed.

When I using the AC68U quick installation wizard in the router setting pages, the process just looping with 4 different steps, waiting for couples of loop, never have option pops up as other user here to let me choose the DSL connection type:

seems there are some problem with the connection.

Then I stop the QIS and do the manual setting, need to found out the details as below questions.

Questions:

-Do the Vodafone connection is based on DS-lite? (ASUS staff said this is critial)

-Need to know the details in the screenshots which circled in red:

Anyone if using the same router, feel free to share your setting here also any suggestions are welcome!

Looking forward for the help!

The ASUS DSL-AC68U won't work with the 250 MBit/s line as it doesn't support VDSL2 with SuperVectoring. It only supports the first generation of VDSL with Vectoring for lines with up to 100 MBit/s.

Hi reneromann:

Thanks for your comment!

But the spec details on the ASUS page said it support (highlighted in grey), am thinking to return it and get another one, do you have any recommandation for other moderm/router from ASUS? which I can use my another ASUS router (RT-AC68U) as AI mesh? isn't that all ASUS router with build in AI mesh command can be linked?

Have a look at the specifications page:

The DSL-AC68U supports VDSL2 up to 100 MBit/s - that means it supports Vectoring (up to profile 30a) that is needed for 100 MBit/s DSL lines (100/40), but not Super Vectoring (profile 35b) which is needed for 250 MBit/s DSL lines (250/40).

And I am afraid that there are no ASUS routers with built in DSL modems available that support SuperVectoring / 250 MBit/s lines right now. So no chance to get it running with the DSL-AC68U, except you would find an external SuperVectoring capable DSL pure modem that you could use to transfer the DSL signal to a network signal for the Ethernet WAN port.
