My cable modem is misbehaving in a few different ways:
- Not letting devices connect, especially after running for a few days
- Not handing out IP-addresses to devices that connect
- Not routing packets to all IP-addresses. For example, pinging 8.8.8.8 or 1.1.1.1 fails sometimes
I've tried the following, but without it helping:
- Restarting the router
- Resetting the router
- Trying to connect using 5 different devices
- Opened a support ticket, with Vodafone, ***
I've been trying to fix this for the past 6 days, with no success, and since my vacation is over now, I really need my internet connection to be functional so that I can work.
Edit: @robertfoss Ticket ID deleted

What kind of cable router do you use?
And especially: Are you using the device in bridge mode?
If you set up the cable router in Bridge mode, it will only hand out ONE IP address for the FIRST connected device. The cable router than behaves like a cable modem and you need to connect a router between your devices and the "cable modem" in order to manage the different IP addresses.

Hey reneromann, thanks for the quick reply.
I use a Vodafone provided CH7466CE modem, and I've never set up bridge mode.
I had a quick look for bridge mode just now, to verify that it is off, but I can't even find the option.

I Googled around for CH7466CE bridge mode settings, and it seems to me that bridge mode has to be enabled remotely by Vodafone employees for this cable modem, so I can't have turned it on.

The 5Ghz Wifi channel is not allowing any connections at all, but is enabled and visible from multiple devices.

Yesterday I tried to pull the power to the modem for 10 seconds, which helped. But today, a day later, the same issues are back again.

After trying to pull the power for 10 seconds today, the modem seems to no longer be able to get a connection to the cable network.
The @ symbol keeps blinking slowly for a long time. It's been 40 minutes now.
I also received a coax-cable in the mail from Vodafone. It worked when I first tried it.

After a few more restarts it seems to have booted properly now.
But restarting the modem for 2 hours every day is not acceptable.

Hello
in the last few days, the signal's had some kind of interference. But now, it's ok.
Can you verify that?
Regards
Jens
