Trying to cancel my account

Hello. Recently I sent a letter to Vodafone in order to cancel our contract.  I recieved a reply by email stating "please visit our Vodafone forum under forum.vodafone.de. Open a new thread for your questions and have a little patience. One of my colleagues will take care of your problem.". (Deine Zeichen: XXXX)

I don't know why I have to come to a community forum to cancel my account. Please let me know how to proceed.
