Why Vodafone charges me twice every month?

Hello everyone,

I have a "Red Internet & Phone 400 Cable" contract with Vodafone for about three years. On 10 December I wrote a letter to Vodafone and informed them and asked them to stop this. After that, I wrote two other letters on December 17th and on January 17th. I am still waiting for a response and Vodafone is still charging me twice every month.

The problem is that on my bills I only see that I have to pay 44.90 Euros for my internet plus mobile phone. However, every month Vodafone charges me another 45 Euros.

Can you please tell me why this happens and why Vodafone ignores my three letters? Please find my three letters to Vodafone in the attachments.

For more information, Vodafone charged me about 700 Euros during the past two years (see attachment for proof).

Kind regards,
Ali

There's not a single bill for both, mobile and landline (cable) network. You are getting one invoice for your mobile contract (being invoiced by "Vodafone GmbH") and a second one for your landline (cable) internet contract (being invoiced by "Vodafone KabelDeutschland GmbH & CoKG").

And 45 € for both, mobile AND landline is far too low - your 400 MBit/s contract alone is priced around 40..50 € per month (depending on the options and the starting date).

This is only reflected in your invoices - one is only for the "Red Internet & Phone 400 Cable" contract - your landline internet & phone connection. These invoices are ONLY for the landline - NOT for mobile!

The invoices missing are your mobile invoices - these are NOT visible in the cable customer service area - you will need to access them in the mobile customer service area and may be required to add your mobile contract using the customer number as well as the customer password ["Kundenkennwort"] (not identical to your login password).

By the way: I will remove the attachment as it contains personal data that are otherwise directly accessible for all persons.

Thanks for the response.

The day that I made the contract, the person in Vodafone shop suggested me to get "Giga Combi" option and pay 45 euros for both a basic Internet and a basic simcard. I checked my last bill again and it looks like this:

Product | Period |  Gross price (euro)
Red Internet & Phone 400 Cable | 02/01 / 21-28 / 02/21 | 44.99
Mobile & Euro Flat | 02/01 / 21-28 / 02/21 |    9.99
GigaKombi Credit Mobile Flat | 02/01 / 21-28 / 02/21 | -9.99
-------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------
Subtotal 44.99

Therefore, clearly the mobile contract is included in the price (44.99). So, Why I still pay another 45 euros extra?

No, the invoice does NOT show that your mobile phone contract is included in the price, it only shows that the GigaKombi is activated because you have an authorized mobile phone contract. However, you can make all mobile phone calls from Germany and landline calls in the EU free of charge from the landline connection. You always have to pay for the mobile phone contract separately.

For further information, you must refer to the mobile phone order confirmation, which you must have received.

The invoice states your landline contract (Red Internet & Phone 400 Cable), a special telephony option (Mobile & Euro Flat) for this landline contract that contains a flatrate for calls to mobile numbers and EU landline numbers and the credit for this option as it is part of the GigaKombi (thus the 9,99 € for the option and the -9,99 € for the credit).

This invoice anyhow does NOT include your mobile phone! There are separate invoices being generated for your mobile phone - that's the second charge.

And I think you misunderstood the salesperson - only because you opted for the SIM card (which creates a secondary contract), you get this Mobile & Euro flat for free on your landline. The SIM card is NOT included in the 45 € from your landline invoice!

Thank you for your reply.

I accept your arguments. But do you agree 45 Euro for a basic SIM card with 3GB of data is not reasonable. I think there is a problem in my payment. Otherwise, paying 90 Euro for a low speed internet and a SIM card is not normal. Actually prepaid SIM cards with less than 8 Euro have more data.

Best regards,

Ali

Hello alishakeri,

please check what exactly is written in the debits. Your cell phone bill is separate, just take a look at it. The Mobil & Euro Flat you listed has nothing to do with a mobile phone contract. You get these for free with the GigaKombi.

Best regards

Nancy

Thank you Nancy,

I can not find any bill about my phone contract in "My Vodafone". Does Vodafone has another website for phone contracts? By the way, I do not understand why should I pay 45 Euro for a simple mobile phone.

You'll have to add the mobile phone contract to your "My Vodafone" account - otherwise it'll not show up (as it'll not be linked).

If you signed for the contract, then it's what you signed for. If you got a new phone with the contract, this is even quite a fair price compared to the prices of new phones on the market...
