I've been using Internet in 8 different countries and I'm sorry to say that Germany has the worse Internet in whole world. It's evern worse than many 3rd world countries!!!
I've been using DSL 16Mb because Vodafone says they can't provide faster internet in our area. To start with, that's the lack of their technology not being able to keep up with new services.
Even in our 16Mb internet we're only getting 7Mb and as per the Vodafone technician that is "NORMAL"!!!
Even that 7Mb line keeps getting disconnected and their support team does absolutely nothing to resolve their issues.
Today we called Vodafone again and spoke to their technician called *edit*over the phone. He did the usual steps like restarting the modem. He then told us that the problem is from our connection to their wireless modem, eventhough we clearly told him that we're able to ping them modem constantly with no packet drops with the responses less than 2ms! He also refused our request to speek to higher level technician or his manager!!! What a company!
I'm fully disappointed in Vodafone's DSL service and I should say this has been the worse Internet service we've ever used in whole world. My job is over Internet so I use that a lot! Trust me if I say that I never seen any company with worse service than Vodafone in Germany.
Edit: Please don't post personal data (like f.e. employee names) public, thanks.

Hey snazemi,
i'm sorry that you are not satisfiefd with your landline.
A dsl 16.000 contract is basically the slowest product in our portfolio.
Often due to the length & attenuation , there performance of this lines can be lower.
7 Mbit is on the absolute bottomline for a 16.000 contract - but may be within the contract margins.
This depends if the lower bandwith is a result of a landline which is simply too long for its full performance.
Disconnects should not happen.
