FRITZ!Box 7490 doesn't work with Vodafone DSL

Hi all,

I've purchased myself a FRITZ!Box 7490 and tried to use it with my Vodafone DSL connection and it just doesn't work. The Power/DSL button blinks all the time and neither with the MIC nor with the user and password it is possible to set the internet connection. I've created an issue at Vodafone and the line seems to be OK, I've sent the box back and got a new one and it doesn't work either. I've used the DSL cable from my old Easy Box 803, the DSL cable from the Box, all possible combinations and none seem to work. Nobody seems to know what is going on. That's why it might be simpler to specify somewhere that this combination is not possible and that it just doesn't work.

The 7490 is usually working without problems at Vodafone DSL connections.

Could you please check if the DSL signal is alive? Seems as if it is not (otherwise the DSL lamp would not blink all the time) - or maybe the Fritz!Box is faulty (and is in so far not able to detect the DSL signal).

To check if the DSL signal is alive, connect the EasyBox - if this box is connecting to the DSL signal and the Fritz!Box is not, then there may be a fault within the DSL modem part of the Fritz!Box.

And as long as the Fritz!Box does not synchronize with the DSL signal, you will definitely not be able to use the MIC - the MIC relies on the DSL signal to be alive.
