Since my ARRIS TG3442DE was upgraded to the new firmware version WiFi has been incredibly unstable.
I'm constantly losing connectivity, on all devices I have (smartphones and laptops).
I noticed that I'm not the only one having this problem.
Can we please have a fix ASAP?

Some more details.
I have some really funny logs to show:
1)
Black Address List Detected: <WG-MAC=9c:c8:fc:XX:XX:XX>;<STA-MAC=a4:4e:31:00:00:00>;<IF=wlan1_0>
This one is weird, because that MAC address is the one from the WLAN interface of the TG3442DE.
2)
DoS Attack UDP-Flooding IN=brlan0 OUT= PHYSIN=wlan0_0 MAC=9c:c8:fc:29:58:23:c0:ee:fb:32:69:18:08:00 src=192.168.0.222 DST=192.168.0.1 LEN=57 TOS=0x00 PREC=0x00 TTL=64 ID=44574 DF PROTO=UDP SPT=51667 DPT=53 LEN=37
This is my Android phone, and I seriously doubt that it's flooding the router with DNS packets.
So, how can we fix this? My internet is basically unusable at this point.

Hello gcivardi,
it seems some programmes or apps send multiple request over a short period and the router seems to interpret this as a DOS attack. The colleagues are trying to find the cause for this and look for measurements. If you send me a private message with your customer number, address and date of birth I can make a fault report for you. Please leave a short message here after you sent the details. What kind of laptop do you use?
Kind regards,
Claudia

I must add that not only the WiFi is losing its conevtivity, but also the LAN conectivity is giving its last breath every now and then.. especially when I am gaming and a lot of information is being sent and recieved in a short amount of time. Can we pleasea have a solution to this problem.. We are paying waaay to much for such terrible quality.. I realy look foroward to end this nightmare next year when the contract expires..

Hello, gcivardi,
does the connection to the devices fail at the same time or is it always different? Can error messages in the log also be assigned to the failures? Will the failures be minimized if you deactivate the modem's firewall? Is there a channel overlay in the WLAN?
Best regards Fred

> does the connection to the devices fail at the same time or is it always different?
They tend to fail at different times, I can't see two devices failing at the same time.
> Can error messages in the log also be assigned to the failures?
I thought so, but then it also loses connectivity without any trace in the logfiles.
> Will the failures be minimized if you deactivate the modem's firewall?
I haven't tried it yet, but all the failures I've seen are on the radio part of the stack, not at the firewall level. If it was the firewall, I would lose the ability to send and receive packets but the wifi layer should stay up. Instead I see constant disconnects in my computer log.
This is one example from this morning:

Is there a channel overlay in the WLAN?
No, both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz channels are free from interference.

Since you have now acknowledged that the router is broken since the last firmware update, I have two questions for you:
- Who is the genius that let this upgrade happen without proper QA testing?
- Who is going to give me back all the time I spent trying to troubleshoot this problem? Should I send you an invoice? (It won't be cheap)
Please, fix this problem, and then hire somebody to do proper QA testing first. This is beyond ridiculous.
(if you want my details in order to give me the next 6 months free, or a free bandwidth upgrade, feel free to contact me).

Hallo gcivardi,
"Who is the genius that let this upgrade happen without proper QA testing?"
This was our engineering. The colleagues are still in the analysis and are thinking about a dowgrade if necessary.

"If necessary"? Really? You got your customer in this situation, you know exactly what the problem is, and you are still wondering if it's necessary? OF COURSE IT IS!
I would have done it myself if I could!
This is just... I have no words for it.

Hi gcivardi,
I checked your router, you got the downgrade yesterday. Now the old version is installed again.
Best Regards, Manu
