Today I had a call from +4930577003105 and a man said he's calling from Vodafone. He asked me if I was happy about my new Rotuer (what?!) then he read my birthdate to me and asked for my nationality. I got scraed, I told him I am not giving him any information. What the hell was that? Should I be worried? How do they know I have Vodafone and know my birthdate?

In case you got a new account/router the company, intructed by Vodafone, obviously wanted to know if everything is ok with technics, router, if you need help with the installation and so on. When signing your contract, Vodafone also asked you for your date of birth, so your date of birth is already known by Vodafone of course.

That makes zero sense, because:
There's something fishy and Vodafone should be aware of it.

That makes absolute sense:
If you're a new client, Vodafone is happy to get in contact with you to check if everything is all alright - so nothing wrong with that - or if there are upcoming questions. Perhaps your date of birth was asked/told to check if you're the person related to the contract. Dont know about the nationality question.
Thanks for your feedback.
