Starting a new contract with an existing router

Hi. I have signed up for a new cable contract with my preexisting vodafone station router that was left here from the previous contract owner. I was told the set up would be automatic and to wait 24 hours. It has been 3 business days now since that has happened and every time I call (the provided ‘English speaking’) customer service number no one can speak to me in english. I need to know what to do in order to get the internet working on my new contract. Can someone please help me and tell me what I need to do as all the information online is misleading and not clear at all. Thank you

that is not possible

you have to rent or buy your own Router

But I have the exact router that is offered, why would I buy another

I don’t understand why I need to buy a product that I already have but if I need to get a router can you please show me where I can order it. I cannot find it on any pages 

Also if this is ‘not possible’ then why is there even an option when you sign up that says you have your own router and do not need one. Incredibly unhelpful

This router is rented to exact the person which lifed in your appartement before and he is not allowed to sel it

It was my ex boyfriends. He bought the router outright. When he moved out, he left it. I have started a new contract in my own name and intend to use it. If this is not possible please let me know how to get another, when I try on my contract it says ‘adding a new router is not possible’

no, he paid a fee for not returning it

Vodafone does not sell cable routers, therefore Vodafone is still the owner

your ex boyfriend can try to return the router and get the fee back

 

you need to change your contract from access only to a contract including a router

or buy a cable fritzbox (6660, 6670, 6690) in an electronic market

How is it possible to change the contract so I can include a router? There is no option online and the customer service line has hung up on me 6 times now

if you are within 14 days it's maybe easier to withdraw the contract and sign a new one with a router included
