Using my Own router with Fiber Optic internet

Hi!

I recently got a fiber optic contract from Vodafone and I decided to get a fiber optic modem and using my own router which is a GLiNet Fint2, I already did all the steps for installing the fiber optic modem and it's LED is green without blinking.

But about the router I don't know how can I make the connection, I tested the DHCP protocol, PPPoE with the username and password sent to me and with the different VLAN IDs but they were not successful.

could you please help me with that? is there any specific configuration I can do on my router?

and another question, does Vodafone fiber optic modem has any admin panel which I can check something from there? how can I be sure everything is correct on the modem?

You do not have to make any settings on the fiber optic modem. Tried the VLAN ID 132?

The bigger problem might be, that the fiber optic modem has to be initialized for this specific line -- otherwise you won't get any signal at all.

As far as I know, Vodafone does not allow own ONTs / optical modems, so you are forced to use the modem / ONT provided by Vodafone.

I got the ONT from Vodafone and for this line, problem is about the connection between Vodafone's fiber optic modem and my own WLAN router.

Maybe try VLAN ID 7...

And PPPoE is definitely needed.

Thanks! I made a progress with VLAN ID 7!!

Now I can connect to the modem but I'm getting error 691 because it says my credentials are incorrect.

my question is about the credentials in the PPPoE, I should pick the values from "Internet-Zugang" in my welcome letter, right?

And about the username, should I just enter the only part that starts with the 2 letters or all the username which starts with 'vodafone'?

If it is VLAN ID 7, the line is from Telekom. It is only used by Vodafone.

To log in, you must use the username and password you received in your welcome letter.
