Hallo
Leider ist mein Deutsch nicht besonders gut, deshalb schreibe ich auf Englisch.
I have a (Linux) computer connected to my Vodafone router via ethernet, and I would like to be able to access this computer remotely (i.e. when I am away from home). I am trying to solve this via port-forwarding (admittedly I am still a novice with networking). I couldn't find port-forwarding on the "Vodafone Station" though I did find IPv6 Host Exposure, which seems to be what I'm looking for. I added the device there, gave it a Port and TCP/UDP protocal. I also made sure to give it a static DHCP (Einstellungen -> LAN -> Statisches DHCP - Heimnetzwerk).
When I'm on the network I can connect to it just fine via `ssh <user>@<local_ip_address>` or (after editing `/etc/ssh/sshd_config`) `ssh -p <port> <user>@<local_ip_address>`. However, I cannot connect outside the network, even with the host exposure. I got my router IP from: https://www.whatismyip.com/ then tried `ssh -p <port> <user>@<router_ip>` but I get the error `Connection refused`. Are there any instructions on how to properly set up remote access for Vodafone routers?

There is no IPv4 port forwarding available as your connection runs in DualStack-Lite-Mode (that you contractually agreed upon). This means you have no (own) public IPv4 address, but you share one IPv4 address with a multitude of other customers.
You will only be able to connect to your PC using IPv6.

Okay, admittedly I don't really know the significance of this. I got the IPv6 address on my (remote) computer via `ifconfig` and I can ssh into it with `ssh <user>@<ipv6_address>` just fine, but again only if I am on the network.
I managed to connect off the network with the firewall disabled. Obviously I don't want to keep the firewall disabled (and it re-enables itself in 24 hours anyway). Is there a way to make this singular IPv6 address an exception? It is already on the list for "IPv6 Host Exposure" which I thought is what is needed, but it doesn't seem to work. Is there something else I must do?

You might run into a known issue from the Vodafone station not respecting the set up rules...
And I doubt there won't be a fix for this at all - as I first heard about that 2 years ago...

Ah so it sounds like I did everything right and it's not a problem on my end? Can't even find a bug report button, which is rather infuriating. I'll try to call them when I can and report back here if there is actually any progress, but it sounds like I shouldn't hold my breath.

I called, only to be put on hold, and then suddenly they drop the call after 30 minutes. And any online chat with their bot leads it to tell me to call customer service, i.e. the number that just drops my call. Profoundly incompetent.
