Termination of Contract - Moving out of the Country

Hello

My customer number for Vodafone is  xxx. I have a DSL internet connection with Vodafone. However I would like to finish my contract as of 29th December 2018, as my work is visa is getting completed . Could you please confirm what is the procedure to cancel the contract. I am unable to reach the customer care. I went to Vodafone showroom in Bilk Arkaden and was only faced with very rude response and very little information. The only information I understand is that I would need to send a letter to the head office in Ratingen Germany. Will i need to send any additional proof. I have an official letter from my employer that mentions the  last date of my assigment as 29-Dec-2018. Will that suffice?As i would just get the deregistration letter from the Dusseldrof regional office during the last week of December, it would be too late to give notice then. So, does incur any additional charges for canceling the contract early? Please help. Thanks

Not too sure if saying "There are hundreds of threads containing all the answers you need here on the board." is slightly exaggerated, but "dozens and dozens" definitiely is correct.

Hence in a nutshell:

• Send request for premature cancellation to Vodafone.  In written.  Signed.
• Quote that you will be leaving the country.
• Send proof (i.e. Abmeldebescheinigung) as soon as you receive it.
• Be prepared to pay the monthly fee for the following three months after the cancellation.
