Need help with understanding a new kabel contract's law

Hello Community and team!

As we all know, there's a new law about kabel and Nebenkosten, so 2 days ago we had a visit from Vodafone guy, and he said that it's mandatory to get a new contract with Vodafone for this thing.

We explained him that we're planning to move out of Germany in the next year, so the contract to pay seems weird. He answered that the contract would be only for 1 year, and we can cancel it any time.

After his visit, Vodafone sent us a contract but it's for 2 years (so it's not aligned to what the guy said previously). And with moving out of Germany, we definitely don't need to have a long-term contract.

So the question is: will we be able to cancel the contract at any time when we move out, without paying fees for something we don't use and physically not in the country of the contract?

P.S. We called Vodafone, and the first line answered in English, but the guys from contracts team promised to call back in English, too. Guess what? No one called back 😞

Yes, if you move out of Germany, you can cancel the contract. You will need to provide Vodafone with the proof of leaving Germany via the „Abmeldebescheinigung“. For support in English, use the Twitter or Facebook contacts listed here:
