Dear all,
My German is very poor so I am sorry for writing in English.
I had been Vodafone DSL customer for more than 2 years. Recently I decided to switch to Telekom. I cancelled my contract with the enddate of 13.08.2024. Telekom had put my start date from 26.08. However they told me that even though my contract end date was 13.08 with Vodefone, due to the start date with Telekom, my contract with Vodefone will end on 26th.
I am currently trying to figure out how that works. My contract data has not changed in my Vodefone account. I have a equipment rental from Vodefone which I need to return after the conclusion of the contract. So, I do not want to keep the equipment any longer than I can.
Can someone help me regarding this?

If you cancel and the new company can not start earlier, the end date of your contract will change. This is because you shouldn't be without DSL.

Does this mean that my equipment rental date will also extend? Will I receive new contract information in few days?

If you do the change of provider and the new company makes the cancellation, they also have to give a response to Vodafone, that their contract starts at 26. So Vodafone extend your contract and your equipment rental for a few more days. For these few days you will not get a new contract or new contract information. The contract will only be extended not renewed.

Thank you @Ines75 . I understand there will no new contract.
My question was - will I get updated information from Vodafone? When I check my account on Vodafone, the information is same as before and 13.08 is written as the contract end date. Will this update and will I be notified? I don't want to assume these changes without any notification.

If you get a notification or not can be answered here I would prefer the WhatsApp channel. If "TOBI" (a bot) replies, write "Mitarbeiter" The service is also available in english.

I appreciate your willingness to help a fellow customer.
Unfortunately I cannot reach Vodafone via Tobi. I have sent a message on WhatsApp and hopefully that works. With the text, I can atleast translate.

It can take a few days.... If TOBI writes a response, write "Mitarbeiter" . After a while TOBI gives up und you can reach an employee
