You have signed up for a DSL contract with us? Here's what happens next: For example, when your connection will be activated and why a Telekom technician might need to visit.
We're glad you chose a DSL contract from us. Now you're probably wondering when you can finally start surfing and making phone calls. Usually, this happens after about 21-25 days. Good to know: We're here for you during this time if you have any questions.
Here's what happens after you order your DSL & landline connection
From contract signing to the activation of your DSL connection, there are only 4 steps:
- Order Receipt: We check if your connection is technically feasible.
- Activation and Access Data: Telekom checks if you need a technician appointment. We will send you an email or SMS with a personal link to the DSL Start Portal. There, you can book your activation appointment digitally. We also send you a welcome letter via email or post.
- Hardware: We send you your devices.
- Activation Day: On this day, you can either activate your DSL connection yourself or a Telekom technician will do it.
Want to see the status of your order? Here's how:
- Log into MyVodafone
- Click on your DSL home contract
- Select My Products
- Then go to Order Status
- Enter your name and your ARC number – you can find this in your order. Good to know: You can also see your order and hardware status in the DSL Start Portal.
Your Technician Appointment
The technical service of Telekom connects your apartment or house connection to the Vodafone network. To do this, they need to work on your house distributor, the APL.
Is the technician appointment free of charge?
Your technician appointment for the new connection is free. If you do not cancel the appointment in time or at all: You will pay a flat fee of €59 for the new appointment.
How do you book a technician appointment?
After we receive your order, we will send you an email or SMS with a link to the Vodafone Start Portal. There you can book your technician appointment. Then you will receive an SMS from us with a link to the info page My Technician Appointment. On the activation day, you can track in real-time when the Deutsche Telekom technical service will be at your place.
Can you reschedule your appointment?
You have the option to change your technician appointment up to 3 days before your appointment. To do this, you schedule a new appointment on your DSL Start Portal. Can't find the link anymore? 3 days before your appointment, you will receive a reminder via SMS or email – with the link to the DSL Start Portal.
What should you check before your technician appointment:
✔️ Your doorbell label is clearly readable.
✔️ You or an adult person is at home during the agreed time.
✔️ You have clarified with the property management where the technical service can find the house distributor.
✔️ You are reachable on your mobile phone during the agreed time.
