Dear admins, 

 

today I have tried to install the modem  from Vodafone for the new internet contract but unfortunately it doesn't work properly. The router is restarting from time to time and the Download speed is really far a way from the one in the contract. I did a few tests and the highest Download speed was 200 Mbps instead of 1000 Mbps. 

I would need some advise from you about how this could be fixed quickly becuase otherwise I am also  thinking to use the 14 days cancelation of the contract.

you can please give us the following information:

  • Which contract do you have? (e.g. Internet + telephone 100)
  • Which modem/router do you use? (e.g. Hitron)
  • Do you use a rental device from us or do you have your own device?
  • Which error occurs? (Speed too low; Packetloss) Also send screenshots of speed tests (with date and time) and tracerts/pingplotter measurements in case of Packetloss or ping problems
  • How is your device connected to the modem? (LAN; WLAN; additional router; PowerLAN)
  • Which browser do you normally use? (e.g. Firefox)
  • Which operating system do you have on your computer? (e.g. Windows)
  • Beginning and period of the disturbance (e.g.: since the beginning of April; only in the evening)
  • Upload a screenshot of the signal values. You can find these in the user interface of your cable router via 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.178.1 for the Fritzbox.
  • What measures were taken by the fault hotline (available at 0800-5266625)?
  • In which federal state do you live?

thank you for your feedback here. Just to quickly answer some of your questions I do have Red Internet & Phone 1000 Cable U, from your current offers.  with router from Vodafone. The contract is new, for the 2nd week, and I am using Chrome and Windows 10.

 

However, after writing here I did a few more tests, LAN and Wifi and the conclusion is that my personal laptop has some hardware limitations, La up to 100 Mbps, and Wifi up top 400 Mbps. I did similar test on my work laptop and I measured more than 900 Mbps on LAN. Also my monile Huwawei P20 Pro measured up to 700 Mbps on Wifi. So I think that the internet speed is alright.

 Btw, would you be able to check and confirm how I should make the payments, if I should send the activation fee with Sepa or Wire transfers ? It is not clear from their letter and emails. I could send youthe deatils on private.
