Termination!!

Dear sir,

 

I have internet service: Red Internet & Phone 200 Cable. My contract number is: ***

 

Due to personal reasons, I have to leave Germany with my family and move back home to Canada. I will not be able to complete the contract period as I'm moving out from my house in Berlin and out from Germany. I sent a termination letter to Vodafone and I received a termination notice via email. The notice indicates that the termination date is 26.1.2020. I will leave my house and Germany on the 26th of July 2018. I will also close my bank account in Germany and there will be no means for me to complete the contract period until 2020.

 

I indicated this in my termination letter, but it seems there is something that I dont' understand. 

 

Can you please clarify my situation, when my contract will be terminated, and when can I return the equipments?

 

If you need any proof that I'm leaving the country, I can provide that for you.

Hello Elhossini,

 

the termination is correct, that is regulated by law in the Telecommunications Act. An earlier termination date is not possible.

hi,

I officially notified you by written mail on the 26 of June that I want to terminate. So even if you are talking about 3 months period, then the termination should be in September not October.

Also, I have a problem with my bank account. So I'm not sure how this is going to work.

Finally, I need to return the router. A friend of mine will help. I need a DHL return slip to do that. Can you please send it to me?

Hallo Elhossini,

 

in the letter of July no proof of the move was evident. Only with the proof, we can set the date correctly. Therefore it is all right with the termination and the contract ends as confirmed now.

 

If you do not have a return slip, the hardware must be sent to us at your own expense.

Hi,

The proof you requested couldn’t be obtained until one week from my departure from Germany., I.e the Abmeldung. So there was no way for me to do that because of law. And you use the law to extend the contract as well. This is so ironic.

I had the flight tickets in July, but you requested the Abmeldung. How this could be my fault.

I don’t have the slip because I used to return another device to you (the old router) per your request as well. If I new that will happen, I wouldn’t have used it.

we do not use the right to artificially renew the contracts. It tells us how to proceed and not more or less we do. So nothing will change on the date of termination.

what I want you to see is that what you are telling me means:

Regardless of the time I notify you, even if it was last March (four months before the required termination date), it will not make any difference, and still the contract will terminate in October, because you will still need the proof, which was not possible to obtain until the 19th of July (one week before the 26th of July).

So you are telling me that: any one who is leaving the country has to pay for a service for 3 months after he leaves Germany because he will not be able to prove to you that he is actually leaving until one week before he actually leaves.

Do you see the faulty logic you use?

I don't want you to change anything if you don't understand the problem in your system.

Hi Elhossini,

 

right. Every customer who moves and we cannot supply there, must keep the period of 3 months from the day of the move or arrival of the confirmation.
