Just moved in - Vodafone cable internet and tv not working

Hi!

So as the title says we just moved in Berlin, to find out that the internet and the tv is not working at our newly rented place - we can connect to the router's wifi but no signal/internet is coming through.

After trying to restart, unplug, plug back in - all the basic stuff, at the advise of our landlord who's living abroad, we tried to connect with someone over the phone, but of course, we couldn't get pass the robot speaking only german.

How could we get pass this robot or how could we connect directly with someone speaking English because this is getting ridiculous, we have loads of work to do but no internet nor tv in 2020..

Is this normal stuff with Vodafone ? because if it is we could get rid of them immediately.

If a moderator is willing to help I can provide account number and address or such.

Please advise,

Many thanks!

The problem is: As sole contractual language is German, Support is also only provided in German. There is no dedicated english speaking support - support in English is only given on a best-effort base and nothing that is any kind of contractually agreed upon or that you are able to enforce.

Next thing: Have you already messaged Vodafone about your movement? It might be that the house has no cable connection at all or that at least it's not connected to the Vodafone network but instead to another cable provider. In that case - and only in that case - , Vodafone will end the contract with a 3 months notice period beginning by the date they receive your movement notice or you move in (given you provide official documents of your move, e.g. the so called "Anmeldung" (official registration notice)) - the later of the two counts.

And especially if there is no signal at all: It may be that you need a technician to fix the wiring - but this only applies if your new home has a cable network connection at all. In case it hasn't (e.g. cause you have a connection to a satellite dish), Vodafone won't be able to provide cable network services and you'll have to get a new contract based on the telephony line (DSL) instead of cable.

Are you joking right? The house has a cable connection and for sure it is Vodafone, I have the account number (Kundennummer).

It is impossible to get through the phone call to have somebody check the cables because of the german speaking robot.. I went to Vodafone, they couldn't do anything, just gave me a number for a WhatsApp line where I wrote them in English and told me that no English here, and redirect me to this forum. This is hilarious.

Any chance of speaking with someone from Vodafone in English about this issue ?

Thanks

Did you have a contract befor you moved to Berlin? Then it is necessary to inform us of your move. Or it's a new contract?

You can tell me your private data also in a pm.
