I bought a new CallYa SIM from a Rewe store in Dusseldorf for my sister-in-law who is visiting from India (Indian Passport). The instruction booklet said I could activate it online or in any Vodafone store.
I tried to activate it online using multiple Android phones and Windows PC but I keep getting an error "Es sind Fehler aufgetreten!" (attached screenshot).
I went to 2 Vodafone stores and they refused to activate the SIM saying that they only activate SIM cards that are bought at that store.
How can I activate the SIM?

I just got tagged by someone else who also had an issue. This thread could give the impression that the problem was never resolved. So I thought I should add that the Vodafone folks sorted it out for me within a day or two after I had started this thread. Good customer support at least through this forum!

Thanks for your reply. Yes, that is the link I use when I get the error. I have tried at least 15 times by now. I also tried to use the German version of this form but it does not have India in the country list.

I only have the online identification option (I'm guessing that's the WebIdent and I'm guessing based on country, some options may not be available). Attached a screenshot of the option. I'm using chrome. I got the same error on Firefox as well. On Edge, the captcha code would not load so I couldn't proceed. We also tried on chrome and firefox on Android.

Yes. There are no details at all about what the error is. Only a generic message that there was an error. So I am not sure what the problem is.

I have a guess...
The English registration form is linked incorrectly.
Therefore the error message. "Es sind Fehler aufgetreten"
And India is not available for selection in the German registration form. Why Vodafone?

Someone help me! I bought a Call-Ya Prepaid simcard yesterday at Real Supermarkt and I couldn't activate my simcard. I went to the Vodafone shop and the worker asked me to pay 40 Euro!!!! I need to activate my simcard because my last simcard is expired already and I dont want to make a new contract with them anymore. I dont wanna pay that much since Im a student in Berlin.
