Flashing red light in Router - unable to connect to internet (for more than one hour)

Hello,

 

I have a cable internet connection with Vodafone and it stopped working about 2 hours ago.

 

I tried to troubleshoot it using:

- Unplugging the cable from the wall socket

- Turning off the router for 3 minutes

- Resetting the router using the opening at the back of the router.

 

Unfortunately, none of these worked. So I called the hotline and they directed me to the tech-support number (0800 526 6625).

Again, the person who spoke from the other side was unable to help because I cannot communicate in German properly 😞 

 

I am at desperate need to fix the problem ASAP as I work from home and cannot get anything done without the internet.

 

I live in Berlin and my router (version?) is CGA4233DE

 

Please, be kind enough to offer help in English. Also, let me know if you need any additional information from my side.

UPDATE: Wrote to the Twitter handle and they fixed it within minutes! Wish I knew this was the way to get it done before! Thanks!

  • Do you use a rental device from us or do you have your own device ?
    • Rental device from Vodafone
  • Which error occurs?
    • Cannot connect to internet
  • How is your device connected to the modem ?
    • WLAN
  • Start and period of the disruption  (e.g.: since the beginning of April; only in the evening)
    • Since Around 10:00 am since 3.11.2022
  • Also upload a screenshot of the signal values . You can find this in the user interface of your cable router via  192.168.0.1 or via 192.168.178.1 on the Fritzbox.

  • What did the test with the network assistant and the chat bot TOBi reveal ?
    • - Unplugging the cable from the wall socket

      - Turning off the router for 3 minutes

    • None of the above worked!
  • What measures were taken by the fault hotline (available on 0800-5266625 for Vodafone Kabel Deutschland or 0221/46619100 for Vodafone West)?
    • Directed to reach out to have support from here (Due to not being able to communicate in German)
