We are in the process of purchasing a tenented flat and we would like to set up a Vodafone cable internet line. Currently the flat is served by a DSL with another ISP and the contract is on the seller's name. Can someone please advise on the proper course of actions? Can we simply sign a new contract with Vodafone and Vodafone will terminate the existing contract or shall we ask the seller to terminate the contract and we take over. Am I right in thinking that since the current ISP is providing a DSL service, the cable connection can be set up and coexist with DSL until it is terminate, so there are no interruptions for the tenant? Thank you for your help.

Vodafone can't cancel the DSL connection since the contract is not under your name but under the sellers name. The seller has to cancel his DSL contract but you can already contract to cable and it can coexist.
FYI: Depending on the property, a technician may need to come out if the self-setup did not work. This is especially true if the connection is older and/or someone hasn't used it in a while. That's what happened to me, and then adjustments were made to reach the maximum speed (1000). Mostly they correct the reception values and exchange hardware in your cellar
