So, the situation is basically in the subject of the post, quite a typical German problem, as I can see. Or a Vodafone problem.
We moved from Germany, and had to send the form of cancellation 2-3 times attaching Abmeldung. We received a letter to send the router back only this week (I don't know how Vodafone imagine doing this even with their prepaid shipping label which is paid for Germany-to-Germany shipment, but ok, had to contact new tenants of our last apartment, hoping they will send it back).
But today we received yet another letter from Vodafone stating they want money for....monthly services for January period.
This is probably due to time needed to proceed with cancellation request, but it's absurd in the same way, paying for services that were not used due to moving out. We are pretty tired of this ongoing situation with Vodafone.
Please, dear Support Team, help to solve it. Thanks.

You posted in the mobile communications section - is that correct?
Sounds more like cable...
There is no support in the forum.
Contact options are listed here.
Lots of text, little information
To which date was the cancelation approved?
There is a one-month notice period.... etc...

Hi there!
Yeah, I actually posted also under Cable as well because I saw my mistake after posting. The Abmeldung stated the date of moving out as 18.12, once we had the document in hand, we immediately sent form etc (it was on Dec 11-12), and saved the form actually. It was written that there would not be any further communication from Vodafone side. Then last week arrived the email for returning the router. That's all we have. Also, it's written everywhere that if people moved out from Germany to another country, there's an exceptional right for cancellation.

Well if the move happened Dec 18th, there is still the 1 month notice period to pay for, which runs into January and explains a partially bill for January.

"The Abmeldung stated the date of moving out as 18.12, "
"there's an exceptional right for cancellation."
Sounds great - but then again - To which date was the cancelation approved?
There could be another letter flying around somewhere.
It could be possible that the cancelation date is on the laste bill and that answers the question if its partially.
Could be even the final invoice etc....
At the moment it looks more like that the automatic processes work like intended.

And as already stated:
Just because you leave Germany, you are still bound to contractual terms as well as cancellation notice periods.
In case of movement to an address where the service cannot be fullfilled (e.g. moving abroad for cable services), this notice period is -by the telecommunications act- defined as 1 month from the later of the date that you move or the date that your movement notice (togehter with corresponding proof) is received. So if you sent the letter on December 12th (and assuming it was received on December 15th due to the weekend in between) and you moved on December 18th, then December 18th would be the start of the notice period - meaning your contract will run until January 18th and as such you will also be billed for this period.
And you may even get an additional bill if you didn't or if you don't return the rental router in time - as you were required to do in the contract. There is even the point in your contract that you are the one to pay for the postage fees - Vodafone is nowadays providing free postage fees packages within Germany, but if you missed to send it back and took it to your new country, you will have to pay for the return postage fees on your own...

Hello,
There's no email with confirmation. Only last bills and the email with label for returning the router. Nothing else. The router was sent back by our friends.

Could possibly be. The lack of information/communication from Vodafone is quite uncomfortable 😞
