Internet type switch.

I want to switch my internet from cable to DSL due to high latency cable issues. But all the support staff drop the phone when I start speaking English, so I decided to switch to another provider who can provide it in an easier way, but Vodafone responded with the switching date in 2027. So the question is: how to do it earlier? Maybe by sticking with Vodafone.

Laufzeit ist Laufzeit! Gerne kannst du einen Vertrag bei einem anderen Anbieter abschließen, der Vodafonevertrag läuft trotzdem bis zum Laufzeitende durch!

You are stuck with the minimum contract term of 24 months. A technology switch within Vodafone is not that easy, VF does usually not sell DSL contracts when cable is available. For support in English use WhatsApp, from the bot there you repeatedly request a Kundenberater until you get forwarded to a human agent. The response then will take time, this is no live chat and requests are worked on in chronological order.

What's the point of refusing a switch to DSL when it's objectively more stable than cable internet? I understand that with Glasfaser it wouldn't make sense, but this is a different case. Cable is notorious for its instability and packet loss compared to DSL and fiber. It should be in the provider's interest to offer the customer the best possible, stable connection to retain them. Refusing the switch prevents improving service quality for the customer and damages the provider's reputation. I also understand that DSL 250 Mbps max is less than Kabel's 1000 Mbps, but stability is more important for my needs.

Simple: Vodafone owns the cable infrastructure but in most cases not the DSL infrastructure, so Vodafone has to rent it from the owners, cutting into the profit margin.

Yes, that makes sense, but isn't it in Vodafone's interest to keep me as a customer? Maybe even for a small extra fee for DSL? Forcing me to buy a second tariff from another provider and then fully switch to them seems crazy to me, honestly

Du kannst es drehen und wenden wie du willst, den Vertrag wirst du erst zum Laufzeitende wieder los! Was du mit anderen Anbietern ausmachst, hat mit Vodafone nichts zu tun!

I‘m just a customer, too, so I can‘t really form an objective opinion. For example: How many customers would profit from DSL instead of cable? Personally for *me* it would simply mean to pay more for less without any advantage.

Thank you for the useful comments. I know that a contract is a contract, but for me personally, client loyalty (especially for 2+ year clients) is more important when there is an option to help them

"I know that a contract is a contract, but...."

There is no but

"client loyalty (especially for 2+ year clients)"

So... two years there was no problem?

If there is an impairment of the connection, a fault must be reported.

Did you do that?
