About extension of cable contract

Hello,

I have currently a cable contract and it will end in 2 months. I placed an order for extension and I thought it will start at the end of the current contract. However Vodafone already sent the new router with all the documents about tariff change. Does it mean that the new contract is already started? I was supposed to pay less until the new contract starts. (PS: they also asked the send the old router back within 2 weeks)

Why didn‘t you just leave the contract running? Without you cancelling it would not end but simply extend on a monthly basis, it would not end.
