Hello to all,
I am using Red Internet & Phone 250 Cable package from vodafone via router model TG3442DE for more than two years. Recently, in order to find a way to provide access to my local Virtual Machine to a friend, I faced the issue that I cannot configure Port-Forwarding rule in the router settings.
The following options are only available within the Iternet settings:
According to document "Arris_VodafoneStation_TG344DE.pdf", there should be something like:
Am I missing something or it is simple not contained within my current contract?
What should I need to do in order to be able to set port forwarding rules?
Any help is very appreciated.
Sincerely,
Danijel

Private customer contracts do not include a public IPv4 but only use DualStack-Lite operation mode.
Thus you cannot use port forwarding for IPv4 as you do not have a public IPv4 that is necessary for port forwarding.

Hello,
Thank you for your prompt reply.
That means I should change my contract.
Which option do you suggest me?

You need to switch to a Business contract...

it is not necessary to switch to an expensive business contract
alternatively activate bridge mode on your Vodafone Station and use your own router
and configure port forwarding

If your current contract is on DSLite, try calling the support hotline 0221 466 191 00. Depending on your exact pricing, you could either book the PowerUpload for 2,99€ and activate dualstack or change your contract to the new GigaZuhause tariff in which you could also activate dualstack.
Either way Dualstack will be needed to use bridgemode, portforwarding and other network specialties.

only true for Vodafone West (BW, Hessen, NRW)
not true for Vodafone KD (rest of Germany)

Hello again,
Apologize for getting back to this topic. Since Vodafone recently upgraded my tarif to "GigaZuhause 1000", I would like to know is there any new possibility for me to share access to my machine via OpenVPN? I watched some videos on YouTube but all of them involve port forwarding that I still cannot find in my router settings.
Any advice will be appreciated.

Hi @Danijel123,
Was it "only" an upgrade to our 1000 tariff or did you also get dual stack?
Kind regards
