Hi,
Sie können auf Deutsch antworten, wenn Sie möchten. I apologize in advance for English I want to make sure I say what I mean.
I have read that since I am in an ex-unitymedia area I can't activate bridge mode on my vodafone station. However I still need away to connect to my ubiquiti dream machine vpn or forwarded ports. Has anyone got suggestions on how I can do this? I also have a horizon box sitting around collecting dust if this could do it? (sales rep lied to my wife about how we'd need it and we don't, we needed a smart card)
I tried IPv6 host exposure as well but either that doesn't work or I can't figure it out. I can ping the wan of the vodafone station using it's ipv6 address but it won't let me access port 8080 which the UDM is port forwarding.

Hi,
you need a cable modem, which supports the EuroDocsis 3.0 and Docsis 3.1 standard. All from you named devices does not support Docsis 3.1 and can not be use with the 1000 Mbit/s line.
You can buy the Technicolor TC4400-EU cable modem for example here: https://shop.wernerelectronic.de/antennen-und-kabelfernsehtechnik/tc4400-eu-kabel-modem-docsis-3-1.h...
The Arris TM3402B is also okay 🙂
Best regards

I was hoping to avoid that but if it works and vodafone are clearly not going to fix the problem what else can I do? However is this device still sold? I can't find it anywhere

I assume both of these would be to slow for my "1000 Mbit/s" line.
Cisco EPC3925
Cisco EPC3212
What about a FRITZ. Box 6490 or Arris TM3402?

I hope you don't mind me picking your brain 1 last time. I got the techicolor modem and hooked it up. The online light went solid green as expected. However my router was assigned a local ip. 10.140.176.145 and therefore was unable to connect to the internet. I assume I should be using dhcp still rather than PPPoE? Is there something I need to get vodafone to do or am I just missing a setup step?

what router do you have? first you need to turn all devices off, then turn on the router, setup up auto IP for the WAN interface and DHCP on the LAN side, THEN turn on the technicolor modem and wait for it to synchronise and build the cable bridge with the router. you shouldnt do any further configuration, but you can share the router model and i can help you out. i have a mikrotik behind my tc4400

I guess you did not activate your modem.
In ex-Unitymedia this works via support.
You need cMAC and Serial-Nr of your Modem.
You could do it via call. I prefer Facebook.
But there is another urgent point:
Do you use DS-Lite just now?
In ex-Unitymedia this will not be changed automaticly to Dualstack.
Maybe your setup will not work with DS-Lite. I am not sure, but I remember I've read about it.
How to get Dualstack:
This points are the normal rules, but sometimes it works if you just ask about it.
Unfortunately it may happen you need several onsets, because this depends on the supporter.
Example: Because Germany loose I will not set Dualstack.

Ok so I contacted vodafone and they setup my mac address and changed me to dualstack. However this cut off my vodafone modem and didn't change my TC4400. So now I'm completely cut off from the Internet.
I have a Dream machine from ubiquiti. I tried restarted the router then turning on the tc4400 and all the lights on the modem come up correctly. It's just the ip the dream machine is local. I don't know where else to look now.
