how to reactivate previous Phone number

Dear Vodafone team,

I have been trying different ways to get in touch with you but so far no luck 😞

What i want is simply to get my old landline phone number. My previous contract for internet and telephone was with you already (Kabel deutschland) so i dont know why i would get a new phone number because i start a new contract with you.

please help me out. I dont want to have to change my phone number so could you reactivate my previous phone number.

When you sign a new contract you get a new number.

The way to keep the old number is with an extension.

Many thanks for your response. Appreciate it. But my issue is that I don't even know how to ask or paid to get my previous number. It should be simple to ask Vodafone to give me back my previous number ( even if I have to pay something) but I don't know how and who to ask 😞

Hello VPA_DE,

you don't seem to understand, you can't, even if you want to pay for it.

It is not possible to take your phone number with you internally. Only if you switch from Vodafone DSL to Vodafone cable or vice versa, you can take your phone number with you. However, if you terminate your old cable contract and conclude a new one, you cannot include the number in the new contract.

I have to admit I am quite surprised. I thought it would be the same than any other phone contract ( mobile phone) where you can keep your phone number.
I was not aware that this is not possible with a landline number. Can you maybe tell me why it is not possible? Is it a technical issue?

it's not a technical problem, it's not a problem at all. It is simply not possible and not intended to take the telephone number from one cable contract to another.

Even clearer: You won't get your old phone number anymore.
