Hello!
I'm about to move out of my flat to move to a WG and I'm having trouble figuring out what I can do. As it turns out I'm out of time for cancelation, so I'd have to pay for Kabel until July, which I'd be happy to avoid.
But I can't move my existing contract to the WG because they have a contract in place with another provider. Can I ditch the landline and switch my existing "Internet & Phone Kabel 50" to the GIGACUBE?

If you have a cable contract, it cannot be changed to a GigaCube contract as these are completely different contract types...
If your WG already has a contract with Vodafone Cable, it might be that the lower of the two contracts is cancelled.
If not, your contract will NOT be cancelled on that base.
If cable is not possible within your new WG, your contract will be cancelled with a notification period of 3 months beginning with the date of your movement or the date that your cancellation is received by Vodafone.
If cable IS possible within your new WG, you will have to keep the contract until its end.

Thanks rereromann for the quick reply! But now I have more questions 🙂
What do you mean with "cable is possible"? I don't think the WG has Vodafone, but another cable provider. If I start the "move" procedure, will their provider become Vodafone?
Also do you know the contract being "pending" cancelation will prevent my current apartment's new tenant from having their own contract? I mean, I'm ok with paying 'til contract expiration, but I would not like the future tenant of this apartment to have problems in getting their own (and I would not like them to use Internet on my name because I don't want to risk being responsible for what they do online).

Hello Fernando76,
the most important thing has already been answered.
Reneromann says whether Vodafone's connection is available at the new address? With which provider is the WG?
It is not prevented that the new tenant of your apartment gets a connection via Vodafone cable. You take the router with you when you move and the connection is free again. Your contract can also only be used with your router.

There can only be one Cable provider at one home - multiple providers are not possible.
So if they have Vodafone, there might be an option to cancel one of the contracts - if it is not Vodafone, it's impossible for Vodafone to move your contract and it'll be ending with the 3 months period as mentioned.
