Moving in a same city Kabel>DSL

Unfortunately my German is not so good, and this could be one reason that not everything is clear regarding my move. I would appreciate if someone can help to clarify...
I initiated a move via MyVodafone portal, asking to move at 14th May. But when I get the possible date to get connection in new adress the earliest possible date was set to 20th of May. In the new location Vodafone offering DSL only so the Kable has to be terminated. That is okay.
But now I just get a confirmation e-mail that my original Kabel contract will end at 14th of May.
Does that mean that the kabel connection will be lost at 14th and the DSL connection will start (maybe) at 20th of May. Therefore I will not have an internet in between this dates.
I thought when the new connection is alive than after the old one terminated. But it seems is not the case. Why the termination date of old contract is not the same as the new contract date? Can somone explain! Thnaks.

Hello Dezmo,

because we can no longer serve you at your new address and you have signed a new DSL contract, your internet contract via cable will end on the date of your move Why your DSL contract does not start until a few days later can have technical reasons, for example. Maybe someone has to come by again.

Best regards
Nancy

Hi Nancy

Thanks a lot your your reply.  However I see this automated pocedure what Vodafone doing, is not that bad generaly, I still feel a little uncomfortable sometimes....

- I dont undertand a technical difficulties at all. The two (old Kabel and new DSL) connections are absolutlely indepnedent and different location. Even handled as two differnt contract. So I dont understand why can not be overlapped?

- I just get the confirmation that the new modem is shipped to my new address. Will arrive at 7th of May. That is okay! But my old contract is end in 14th of May and I'm live mainly in my old address. Why dont you have an option during procedure to choose the delivery address? Most probably I can (will) manege to take over in the new address or pick up in a post office but could be unconfortable...

- I will survive (for sure 🙂 ) one week without internet, but would be better if I have it.

- Finding an employee who can speek English a I need a little luck, so normally I'm not calling the customer service ....

Dont get me wrong. I'm happy with Vodafone, but this things can be improved....

Hello Dezmo,

your contract ends on this date because you have specified it as the moving date. We can postpone this one for you. When will you be at your old place?

Best regards
Nancy

Hi Nancy

Thanks for your effort. I have some special case here, becouse we are doing a kind of "mini move". The old flat I rented with furnitures the new one without. So we need to transfer over a just small amont of furnitures , than we can  live "paralell" in both flats for a week or so. Due to the current situation (corona) there was a big question mark about the delivery times of new furnitures to the new flat.

Fortunately (it seams) I have managed now that the new furnitures will arrive at 13th of May, therefore we can go to the new flat at 14th.

If the new connection will be on live at 19th (as confirmed by Vodafone) than all will be okay. We will be busy to arrange, assemble the new flat anyway  during the "dead connection" times. 🙂

(As a backup my company offered me some extra mobile datas, which I can use from my smartphone tethering.)

All in all just please cross your fingers that the new connection will come on time and no technical issues: then nothing else need to do... 😉

Hava a nice and healthy time!

Nancy
