Hello,
I am waiting to here back on a confirmation that all my Vodafone accounts have been cancelled. I have mailed our abmeldung for both mobile phones and internet. When I spoke to a representative on the phone he stated that once our abmeldung forms had been mailed then they could move up the cancellation date on all accounts. Now I have recieved an email that Vodafone needs our registration or lease of our new place to prove we are not living in Germany. We own our home in the United States so we do not have either of those items. I have tried emailing the first page of our mortgage and have not received a response. I would like our accounts cancelled as quickly as possible. Our first cancellation letter was sent in March and then I sent one again in April.
Thank you for your help.

Why not until October 23rd? I did not see any messaged confirming this date. The original request to cancel services was sent in March and then again in April. The only reason the date looks different for the start date is that you sent us a new modem for our service that originally started in September of 2016. It seems that it should be cancelled by now.
Thank you.

It really depends when you sent your cancellation (or better: when your cancellation notice was received by Vodafone as this is the date that matters according to German laws)...
If your contract was made in September 2016 as you said, your cancellation for September '18 has to be received by Vodafone at least 3 months in advance (so in June '18 ) - otherwise it has automatically renewed for another year. So if you sent your cancellation in July, you were too late for a regular cancellation for September '18 - and therefor the premature cancellation rule according to the telecommunications law applies here (as the contract has automatically renewed for another year until September '19).

I sent my original cancellation request in March and then I sent another one in April to make sure it was received.

Do you have a proof for reception?
If so, maybe one of the Mods here might be able to correct the ending date...

Hello jocelynb,
reneromann's answer is correct. You are wrong at the beginning of your contract:your contract started on 09. December 2016.

Hello,
I just recieved another update for my contract in November!! I was told in this thread that my service would be canceled on October 23rd.
I have not lived in Germany since July and I followed all the correct protcol for mailing letters and canceling service.
Please help.

If you followed all procedures, then your contract ends 3 months after moving out of Germany (or 3 months after the cancellation was provided to Vodafone - the later of the two dates counts).
So if you moved out of Germany in July and provided proof in July, then October would be the end of the 3-months notice period for premature cancellations according to the German Telecommuncations law.

Hello jocelynb,
your contract is terminated. The amount from the last invoice is a credit for you.
Best regards
Tina
