Hi,
I do not speak German, and I can not get passed the phone automated answering maching to reach Tech-Support.
I have been experiencing issues with my Vodafone Router. Out of the blue, the wi-fi network dissapears.
The wi-fi light on the modem/router turns off.
When this happens, if you connect via cable to the modem, and go into the settings, EVERYTHING related to the Wi-Fi is not there, that is to say, there are no wi-fi options as to manage thewifi networ.... It is as if the device looses it functionality.
Turning off- and on the device does not solve the problem. The only solucion is to do a factory reset, and then re-configure from scratch.
If for some reason the modem looses its power conection, and restarts, this issue happens too... So it happens randomly and if you un-plug re-plug it.
The Modem is Vodafone TG3442DE.
------
Another issue that I am experiencing with the Internet connection is that It never gets to the speed that I should have for my contract.
Hope you can help me here, since I went to the store were I got the service, and they said they could not help me there.

Hello Magcus,
seems that there ist indeed something wrong with your contract and the settings VF has setup for your Modem/Router!

Ok, good to know.
What are the next steps? Do I need to take any actions?
Cheers!'

Hey,
i don't know why the technician said that the contract is wrong, there's nothing wrong here - everything is booked correctly. i had my colleagues check the contract again, the product is booked correctly. according to the system, there's only one lan device connected here with 100MBit, can it be that either the network card has a problem or the cabel between your device and our? Even the department itself says that the problem will probably not be on the line.
Regards
Tobias

Tobias,
When the technitian came, we tried with different cables (even the ones included in the new router he used). The result was the same in all cases. The issue is not with the laptops... I use daily one of them at work and the connection supports way higher speed connections.
I know the cables that I use support higher speeds.
What are the next steps? I would like to get tracktion on this... As mentioned before, this issue has been going on for quite a long time, and I am the one that needs to drive this.
Cheers!'

Do you have another Laptop or PC which you could connect to the Router? Or are you able to alter your network settings from automatic to fixed gbit speed?

I have tried this with two laptops, one is a Macbook Pro highly capable of using higher speeds, and the other one is a windows computer with higher speed capacity too. Both have proven capable of using more bandwith that 100Mbs in other networks.
If you want me to run any particular tests, please provide the steps.
In any case, I think this troubleshooting has been done with the technitian that was at my appartment already, but I can do this again if necesary.

I just ran another speed test with two different cables connected to the window computer straight from the router, and in both cases got similar results to this one: https://www.speedtest.net/result/8637529928
This is even below the 100Mbs.
