But... it's a crude, barbaric language, spoken by uneducated, warlike troglodytes. How dare they speak to @Torwan like that! That's just rude. He chose to bless this mudhole of a country and it's unworthy, savage natives with his angelic presence. The least we should do is to speak his language of choice. He deserves at least that.
Cheers,

Why unprofessional? If you promise your customer to call back in an hour and you do not call within an hour I consider such behavior unprofessional. They could say "let us call you back the end of business day or more tomorrow when English speaking employee will be available" and I would be fine with it.
I consider unprofessional when you promise something and do not fulfill your promise.

I have nothing against German language. I am learning even if I do not have to as I have a job where English is a standard and commonly used language. German is indeed difficult but this is not what I wanted to stress in my initial message.
I had a few times a need to contact Vodafone and it was always very difficult to find anyone who speaks English. Due to my job I travel a lot all over the world and noticed that this is very specific in Germany that not many people speak English. Nevertheless I would expect from such a big company like Vodafone to hire more English speaking people as not only Germans live in Germany. Please notice that vodafone.de does not even have English version and we have 2019! Just go for a trip to Niederlands or Denmark and you will quickly see how much better if it comes to English are these countries. Try to call Vodafone customer service and you will never hear "For English press one" what you can hear in many customer service lines in other non-English countries.
If you come to Germany for a year or two due to your job contract maybe it should not be necessary to learn German which you will never need again as it is spoken only in Germany. It"s much better to invest your time to learn Spanish for instance. Without German it is very diffcult to deal with simple things in Germany.
This is just my and my friends' observation. Somehow German companies do not pay attention to English speaking customers and here the one which pay attention - win the customers. It"s just surprising that Vodafone put itself amongst all of these small companies which still did not realized how big market of non-German-speaking people is in this country.
If I have two internet providers where one speaks English and second not I for sure choose the first one and I know from many friends that they do the same.
