Hi,
I recently ordered a prepaid Vodafone sim card by authenticating myself online with my passport. I got the sim card and I am already using it for few days now. I recieved an email today that I should complete the last step of order process "Identification on partner website" within 7 days. I clicked on the link provided in the email for online verification but the POSTID guy told me that they do not accept passport for my country and I should contact Vodafone as this happens a lot.
Could you please advise on how to proceed further.
Best regards,
Prateek

Hello,
I am having the same problem. I just tried authenticating with my Canadian passport, and the online authentication representative said that they would need to see my residence permit. I have registered in my city, but I do not yet have my residence permit, and it may take over a month before I get it. Please advise as to how I can verify my identity and receive my SIM? Thanks.
Cheers,
Mitchell

Hi ,
since July 2017 there are new EU guidelines for the registration of SIM cards. All network operators must adhere to these guidelines.
In your case we need the Canadian passport. Whether a residence permit is necessary, I can not tell you unfortunately. It's best to go to a Vodafone shop near you. The staff will be happy to help you.

Hello bommel1959,
Thanks for the reply. I did show the online verification personnel my Canadian passport, and they indicated that they also wanted to see a residence permit. Is the only way to get my account activated then to go into a store?
Cheers,
Mitchell

Hi @Grautvornix,
I just attempted to complete the verification online again, and they again told me that I needed my residency card, which I do not have yet. If I go to a Vodafone store, can they register me with just my passport? Please let me know, thanks.

Hallo @MPCurley,
yes you can go with your passport in a Vodafone shop, which then completes the registration for you. ![]()
