When I try to purchase CallYa tariff with eSIM I never get the option for number portability.
Am I missing anything?

Use this website to order a CallYa SIM-card for free. After choosing your tariff you be able to choose between physical SIM-card or eSIM. 
When you choose eSIM you will get an email first. I guess with the next step you can tick the box porting your mobile phone number.
