Hello,
I am moving out of Germany (to South America) in April and therefore I need to cancel my Kabel contract. I had a German friend called Vodafone a few weeks ago and the information provided was that my contract was a very old one (I got it from the previous tenant living in the apartment) and therefore I would have a 4-weeks notice period, but I think that was a mistake because the document I got from the previous tenant says that it started on February 2020. In any case, I want to know how to proceed to cancel the contract, the direct debit (since I will not have a bank account here any longer) and send the modem back by April 5th. My de-registration certificate can only be issued by the Rathaus one week before I move, which is incompatible to any notice period, so how shall I proceed?

Report your move as soon as possible using the relocation form in MeinVodafone (as a VFW customer in NRW, BW or Hesse) or MeinKabel (as a VFD customer in the rest of Germany), because if you move abroad you have a special right of termination with a notice period of one month . It depends on when the relocation notification is received, because that is when the period begins to run. You can then submit the deregistration confirmation afterwards so that your contract is really terminated.

you can easily inform us of your move via our online move service. We will then check your new address and whether we can continue to supply you. If this is not possible, your contract will unfortunately be cancelled.

Thank you! I tried several times to reach the Mein Kabel portal, with different browsers at different days and times, and it always gives me back "Wartungsarbeiten", I am in Niedersachsen. Is there any other way/ link to notify the moving?

did you use the link Nancy sent you? The only direct way to access the customer portal is via Mein Vodafone.
