Problem Setting up New Router

Hello,

I have the Vodafone Wifi 6 router currently, but would like to use a new router I have purchased. I set the Vodafone router to bridge mode (on Vodafone.de), however, the Vodafone router does not give the new router a public IP address, therefore, giving me no Internet access.

I am not 100% sure what the issue is, but I have a few ideas, but I was hoping someone could help. My two ideas are:

1) MAC Address Caching: I would either need to spoof the IP address of the old router or have Vodafone reset the cache.

2) PPPoE: I need to setup PPPoE server on my new router, so I would need the Vodafone credentials.

There may be another issue here that I am unaware of, any help would be greatly appreciated!

I did that about a week ago and let it set for about 5 hours and it never worked. I just did it today and it worked. Very strange. Thank you for your help!

Then I close the thread.

Best regards Kurt
