contract extended without my approval

I have vodafone contract from 2019 and I have notified vodafone 3 months before the end of contract and changed to another service provider and also I have recieved confirmation of termination . But without my consent vodafone extended the contract till next year and told my new internet provider the next "wechsel termin" is in 2022. How can vodafone do this??

If your cancellation request is not received in time (or you did not write a cancellation at all but just a simple "I will change my provider"), your contract auto-extends as initally contractually agreed upon...

 

Keep also in mind that sole contractual language is German - thus your cancellation request has to be sent in German language... And depending on when you opted for your new provider, it might have been too late for him to send the cancellation on your behalf...

I have given kundigung to Vodafone and received the confirmation from vodafone also that my contract is ending on 01.07.2021. So I have opted for another provider. Suddenly I have received email from service provider that my contract will be ending on 04.07.2022. I don't know what kind of tricky games vodafone is playing.

Now the situation was made worse. I was told my contract will be ended. Now it was extended again till 08.08.2022. The contract was extended without my consent. I have received the confirmation my contract will be terminated on 01.07.2021.Now without my consent my contract was extended. I want this contract to be ended right now. I am not interested in extending your contract

This is the usual way if you do not send a cancellation notice in time.

This is simply wrong - if you do not cancel in time, your contract will automatically extend year by year for another year. This is exactly what you agreed upon on signing the contract.

When was your cancellation notice received by Vodafone? If it was AFTER the notice period had passed, then your cancellation notice will be effective for the next year, not for this year.

As I said - if you do not cancel in time, your contract automatically extends year by year. This is what you signed for and this is what you are now bound to. It does not matter if you want to the contract to end now if you did not adhere to the cancellation notice periods.

The strange thing is that you are talking about two different dates - 01.07.2021 and 08.08.2022 - usually if your contract automatically extends, it's either 01.07.2021 and 01.07.2022 -or- 08.08.2021 and 08.08.2022...

 

May it be that your cancellation is not for 08.08.2022 but 08.08.2021 because your new provider needs some time to switch over? Because in this case, your old contract gets extended until the switchover date.

 

The other -but unlikely- situation would be if your new provider had requested a second cancellation but that this one was received by Vodafone after your notice period has passed and that the person working on that request didn't notice your earlier cancellation and thus only was looking at the dates, taking it for being received too late.

 

Have you checked your invoices? There should be a "Gekündigt zum: " (cancelled to) line in red (as far as I remember) stating when your cancellation would become effective. This line may be different to the "Laufzeitende" (end of term) line as the "end of term" line does -as far as I know- not respect any already received cancellations (thus the separate red line).
