I’m a foreigner and was working in Germany for the past 5 years. Unfortunately I don’t speak German and writing in English, sorry.
We(me and my wife) have being with Vodafone for over 3 years now and we like the coverage. Vodafone was even on the top when we went to U.S. for vacation(great coverage there too). Thank you for that.
Our contract is about to end and we decided to stay with Vodafone. We went to the Vodafone shop, discussed with the sales rep what we want and finally got a good deal from the shop manager on 2 new phones and a plan. Everything good ends here.
Overall we spent over 3 hours(!!!) at the shop signing a mobile contract (people buy a house in less time) with sales rep going back and forth saying "let me talk to my manager". Our baby got very tired and started crying. It was time to leave. Because it was just my name on the contract I asked if there is anything else I need to sign before I leave. They said no, so I left. My wife stayed at the shop waiting for them to print the contract and put everything together. She said it was another 30 mins before they finish everything.
When she got back home that day I looked at the contract and could not believe what I saw. After I left, the shop made my wife sign additional pages on my contract. My wife’s name was not even on the contract (not sure how that’s possible from a legal prospective, no power of attorney, no verbal permission). She doesn’t speak German and barely English. It made me very mad. I have no desire to have any business with this company.
The contract shows one wrong phone plus the shop charged me for GigaCube even though we specifically said we just need two phones and a plan, nothing else.
We all make mistakes I understand that and I wanted to believe it was a mistake. We went back to the shop and ask to cancel the contract because it is not what we agreed on but they refused.
Vodafone shop says they can’t cancel the contract and tell us to call Vodafone main office. Main office tells us to go back to the shop.
Do I even have a legal contract? My name is on the contract but it signed by someone else.
Can someone advise me on this situation please? Thank you for reading the whole thing.

Hi PCA,
thank you very much for the description. Sounds pretty annoying the whole thing. First and foremost this has to be clarified in the shop. Especially the topic, which hardware is sold and actually spent, we can't understand from here.
Did you get an e-mail address from the shop or from the shop-employee himself? I would recommend then to take up contact in writing and to describe the situation exactly and to ask for clarification. In addition the hardware should not be used, while that is not clarified. Whereby the topic becomes anyway difficult to clarify.
Best regards

Thank you for your reply and advice. I went back to the shop total 3 times but it was all verbal I have nothing in writing from the shop. Twice they told me the shop manager is not there and once they wouldn’t let me talk to the shop manager even though I saw him at the shop. The shop employee told me that the shop manager will email me. He never did. Looks like they not that interested in resolving the issue.
Unfortunately, I did not get email address from the shop as well (I agree I should). However, I have email from the main Vodafone office dated June 11, 2019 saying that main Vodafone office contacted the shop and the shop will get in touch with me within 14 business days to clarify the situation. As of today no one contacted me. Waiting…

Hi PCA,
thanks for the feedback. From the official end, I'd have to write to distribution right now. So that he has the possibility to clarify the topic. What the colleagues in the mail team did, is exactly the same step that I would have to take. Since the colleagues are already working on the topic, I would like to ask you to clarify this further with them. The processing of several departments usually brings only more confusion. In addition, as I said, I would have to take exactly the same step.
If you like, you can of course keep us up to date.
Best regards
Der-Peter
