Cancelling Contracts and Additional mobile contract never requested

I recently wrote a lengthy letter to Vodafone in both English and German as I am being made redundant and so must return to UK.

Request my 2 mobile contracts to be cancelled

Request my home phone/ internet contract to be cancelled

Ask why a 3rd mobile number has appeared on my account since November 2018 (I have never had or taken out an extra contract so this is either a mistake or fraud)

Ask how I pay any outstanding bills after my German bank account has closed this August (I am required to do this BEFORE I leave the country)

I have received very short letters back in German which I believe say they cannot do anything about cancelling my contracts early and that is pretty much all they say.

As far as I can tell the letters to do not say when the contracts can be cancelled by (my local Vodafone shop which is incredibly good at English when they want to sell you something but not so much when you have a problem tell me that my contracts are due for renewal in November so must be cancelled 3 months before) so I have no confirmation my contracts will cease in November which is a worry.

They did not refer to my question about the third mobile number that has appeared on my account which I have never asked for nor agreed to ( I am VERY concerned about this)

They have not answered my question about what I do to pay any outstanding bills once my German account has closed.

I came to Germany in 2003 and have been a loyal Vodafone customer for a very long time. I am disgusted at how they can treat a customer this way.

Hi Kelly2,

 

thank you for your message and the presentation of the situation. The move abroad does not bring a special right of termination for the mobile phone contracts. There will be nothing to do.

 

But you also have a contract for internet and telephone? This should be possible. Do you have a DSL or a cable contract?

 

To the invoices. How you pay them is up to you. If you want to clarify it in advance and no longer want to pay a bill from the UK, then you must now pay enough money into your customer account, so that the bills can be debited monthly from the credit until the end of the contract periods.

 

Cancellations have a period of 3 months for each number/contract. If the contract is not cancelled in time, it is automatically extended by 12 months. If you have cancelled the contracts and they actually end in November, then it is definitely not too late yet. As far as the cancellations are concerned, I can gladly see that I confirm the dates for you.

 

Please send me the mobile phone numbers and your customer password in a private message.

 

I'll also have alook then at the topic with the third contract. But I won't promise anything at this point.
