Cannot connect to the router with password

I cannot connect to the internet via the router since a while ago. It keeps complaining about wrong password, no matter how many times I reset the machine and the password itself. I have tried (many times):

  1. Restarting the router,
  2. Resetting the router
  3. Changing the password under "WLAN" configuration through https://192.168.0.1 and trying with the new password
  4. Resetting the "WLAN" configuration to default (which will also reset the password, but it still doesn't work).

I have been repeatedly trying to enter the password shown under "Konfiguration" of "WLAN" so I am sure it's not that I have typed the wrong password. Now I can only connect to the internet either with cable, or if I set the "Sicherheitsstandard" to "aus" (i.e. no password). But it is not safe at all there's no password protection. Please let me know what are the possible solution to this. Thank you!

which router do you have?

have you tried a wifi password containing only letters and numbers without any special characters?

regards Robert

Hello Robert,

My router is "WLAN-Kabelrouter Vodafone Station" (Modell: cga4233de). For the password, I have tried the following combination:

  1. only letters and numbers (the default password that comes with the router)
  2. only letters
  3. only numbers

Unfortunately nothing works.

Regards,

Annie

Hello,

then try a complete factory reset.

User a paperclip and hold the reset Button for about 30 Seconds after that wait for 5 minutes and try again.

regards Robert

Reset factory worked for me. You save my day Smiley (fröhlich)
