Der Internetanbieter antwortet nicht auf PPPoE-Pakete

Maybe someone can help. Suddenly my internet connection broke down. My router gives the following error message: "Der Internetanbieter antwortet nicht auf PPPoE-Pakete". I am living in Germany but do not have a German mobile phone number. Therefore I cannot call the helpline (since non german numbers are blocked). Also I cannot receive a new Modem Installation Code (MIC), since a German number is required to receive an SMS. How can I get my internet functioning again?

PPPoE errors are most likely linked with a change of your account password.
Did you have any tariffchanges recently?
This error message occurs for example after we have modernized or landlines.
In this case, you get a new welcomeletter with a new modeminstallationcode.
