Vodafone business team has asked me to post here

The 3 months period in case of moving to a location where the contractually agreed services cannot be granted starts the earliest by the day of the move - so if you move out of Germany in the begin of July, it's 3 months from that date, even if you notice earlier...
Next thing: In case you have NOT send a "regular" cancellation request in time, your contract will NOT run out automatically - the contracts auto-extend for another year as long as there is no cancellation request received in time. For a regular cancellation, you are required to send your cancellation request in time, usually this means that it has to be received by Vodafone the latest 3 months before end of the contractual term.
And one remark: This procedure only applies to your landline contract - as the mobile contracts still can be fullfilled as agreed upon, there is no premature cancellation right for them. Please note that this may include roaming fees (that you agreed upon at signing the contract).

Hi Ludo741,
if you have reported your move on July 8th, the cancellation date mentioned in October is correct.
In the case of a move, the contract ends with a period of three months after the date of the move.

Stephan

Thanks Stephan but it doesn't make any sense. Why do I need to pay for an extra 3 months for 2 phones and cable if I don't use the service?
When I sent the notice in May, I could have said I am leaving immediately and this would have brought me to August 15th?

This is due to the Telecommunications Law - you opted for a longer running contract and the law grants you the right to prematurely cancel BUT with that 3 months period starting the earliest on the movement date but not before the report of the move.
Before that change was made to the Telecommuniations law, a move was no reason for a premature cancellation at all - especially as the German High Court ruled in 2010 that there is no such right and that the customer has to pay for the complete contractual term even if he cannot use the services anymore as the move is only caused by him and not by the provider.

Most presumably yes - but you would have needed to provide (official) proof of moving (e.g. the letter of deregistration stating your exact movement date).

Hello Ludo741,
this deadline is specified under the Telecommunications Act.
Best regards
