Requesting IPv4 - DS-Lite doesn't work for me.

Hi team,

Sorry, I don't speak German (yet) but I'm facing an issue with my installation.

I have a Red Internet & Phone 1000 Cable contracted and a FRITZ!Box 6600 Cable.

Currently, I'm only able to get IPv6 over DS-Lite, and I need an IPv4 address for remote work, as I travel a lot and need to use some resources on my internal network.

How can I get remote access over a PC and mobile phone?

I suppose DS-Lite does not support this type of implementation.

Do we have any workaround? I'm guessing putting a router in front of it and making my Fritz!Box as IP client won't do the thing.

Thank you very much for your help.

Caio.

I'm reached out Vodafone Service via Twitter and they changed for Dual Stack.

Thank you for your help!

As your contract only includes DS-Lite operation, you will only be able to remotely access your network using IPv6.

If you need DualStack, you will need to switch to a business contract as only business contracts include DualStack operation with a public (and even static) IPv4.

Ok, so I suppose even if a put in a router in front of it, it will only get IPv6 on the WAN interface and will have the same issue for setting up VPNs?

if you have your own router you can activate bridge mode and your own router will get a public IPv4

So that's a 100% certainty way of fixing DS-Lite "issue"?

Assuming I buy a new router, how is it going to get a public IPv4, if the DS-Lite preset is coming from Vodafone?

Thank you for your assistance!

in which federal state of Germany do you live?

I live in Berlin.
