Vodafone Station crashing

Hi, sorry for not speaking German.

I have been with Unity Media until recently when I changed contract to Vodafone (same package). As part of the contract switch, I was sent a new router, the Vodafone Station (version 7, firmware AR01.02.037.03.13_032020_711.SIP.10). I swapped routers over a few days ago and everything seemed to work fine.

However, since then at intervals of between 10 minutes and 10 hours (there is no pattern), the router will crash. By 'crash' I mean the WiFi LED goes off (the power, internet, and phone lights are still on), all devices lose WiFi connectivity, and I cannot connect to the LAN (no network activity on the LAN ports). The only way to resolve the crash is to reboot the router. There are no error messages in the log file.

When the WiFi is working, there are no issues at all - the signal strength is good and there are no dropouts.

I have done a factory reset on the router, and the problem persists. I've also tried disconnecting all my devices and the problem continues. The problem occurs when only 2.4 GHz is enabled, or if 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz (with different SSIDs) are enabled.

Could someone advise me whether there is something else I can try? I am pretty sure it is the router itself that is the problem - is it possible to get this exchanged?

Let me know if there's any other information that would be helpful to diagnose the problem.

Thanks.

Hey nsf63

Have you ever reported the problem via customer service? and has a fault ticket been issued?

If not, please contact the colleagues of the social media help to report a malfunction so that the technical department can check it more closely.

Best regards
Ida

Thank you for your reply. The problem has now been resolved - I contacted the telephone support who sent out a new router which fixed the problem.

Slightly concerningly, I contacted support on Twitter as well, and they said it was a problem on the line. Telephone support checked that this was not the case, and the new router confirmed this.
