Switching from Cable to DSL

Hi there,

I signed up for a cable plan and finally received the activation code (I'm located in Dresden). I've tried to get my own Fritzbox 6690 router activated but have not had any success. I first tried using the Fritzbox internet wizard and then also the instructions from vodafone to set up the router. I have also tried different outlets: first the coaxial connection and then using the multimedia adapter at different locations in the apartment but no luck. At this point my thinking is cable internet is not possible at my apartment even if the hardware is in place. I've also checked the available WiFi connections from neighbors and they show Fritzbox 7530 or 7590 which confirms my suspicion that only DSL is available.

With that I would be interested in learning what is the process to switch my contract from cable internet to DSL at my apartment.

Thank you.

What is the 8-digit article number of your Fritzbox?

It is 20002965. Bought it new from Amazon. I believe it's listed on the vodafone page as one of the Fritzbox routers that should work. Tried doing a factory reset but no luck. Power/cable light keeps blinking and neither activation option (Fritzbox or kabelmodemaktivieren link) work.

In that case try WhatsApp for contact with support (support in English is available there).
