Hi,
I'm sorry for not writing in German, but I am a technician and trying to translate properly technical terms would prove too difficult.
I need to run a server on my home network (not running an actual server, it’s for work / testing purpose) and so I need port forwarding available. I know it’s not available anymore on the Vodafone station.
So, my questions are:
If I take the FritzBox! 6660 available now, I heard it’s the first 24 month for free? Is that accessible to everyone?
My second question, is, if I take the FritzBox! Will it be directly connected to the cable connection? Or the Vodafone Station will be setup as Bridge mode and I then need to put the FritzBox behind the Station?
If I need an IPv4 address, I need to put my setting in Bridge mode, but if I do put Bridge mode on when I have the FritzBox does that mean I need to do the same setting as the Vodafone station, and connect another device behind the Fritzbox?
And the last question is, for anyone with this Bridge setup – Would you recommend to keep the Vodafone Station in Bridge mode and buy my own Router? This way I can configure or get a better router / WLAN connection?
Thanks for your time!!

buy your own cable Fritzbox (e.g. 6591, 6660 or 6690)
in Bavaria your connection will be switched to dual stack if you use your own hardware

Meaning I configure my Vodafone station to Bridge and place the Router behind right?
And this way I get my IPv4 (Dual stack so v4 and v6 together).
There should be no service degradation or anything?

wrong !
as I wrote: buy a cable Fritzbox if you need dual stack
in bridge mode you get IPv4 only on the router behind

Hello Firador,
you have already been shown a possible solution by RobertP. I can also unlock the IPv4 address and you just continue to use our cable router? Deal? Send me your customer number, name, date of birth and address in a private message.
As soon as you have sent me your data, please contact me again briefly here in your thread.
Best regards
Tina

Hello Firador,
exactly, you then simply use our router in Bride Mode and use your end device behind it.
Best regards

Hi,
Tina has already offered to switch your connection to IPv4. We only need the customer data she requested.
