I am a former Unitymedia customer in Hesse. My home network runs on a very nice set of Asus mesh routers, but I have to use them in Access Point mode. I've been waiting nearly 2 years for Vodafone to deliver on their promise of Bridge-Mode support for the Vodafone Station, but I have no reason to believe Vodafone will ever actually provide this feature. Every time someone asks, their customer service comes to the thread to tell us they're very sorry, but have no news to share. It is obviously not a priority for them, we only ever get excuses. I read in other threads here that they've actually *removed* Bridge Mode from the rental Fritzboxes as well.
I was willing to purchase a TC4400, but I was not willing to go without internet for a week at a time, sending it back and forth through the post to Werner Electric, every time it needs a firmware update. I recently read about people purchasing a Technicolor CGA4233 (also from Werner), which is a gateway like the Vodafone Station, with support for Bridge-Mode. I would be willing to buy this as well, if it's possible to apply firmware updates for it at home, presumably using its web interface.
Do any other users currently own a CGA4233 and use it in Bridge-Mode? Are you able to apply firmware updates yourself (without buying a CMTS or something crazy like that)?

Ich habe fast 2 Jahre darauf gewartet, dass Vodafone sein Versprechen der Bridge-Mode-Unterstützung für die Vodafone Station einlöst, aber ich habe keinen Grund zu der Annahme, dass Vodafone diese Funktion jemals tatsächlich bereitstellen wird. Es hat offensichtlich keine Priorität für sie, wir bekommen immer nur Ausreden. Ich habe in anderen Threads hier gelesen, dass sie den Bridge-Modus auch von den Miet-Fritzboxen *entfernt* haben.
