  • Can you receive messages sent from within Germany/sent from a German network mobile?
  • Is the person trying to send you SMS using a Vodafone mobile phone/SIM card?
  • Does the person trying to send you SMS get an error message?

And another question: Is the person using the "right" number?

Keep in mind that if the person is sending you a message from abroad (in both cases, roaming with a German contract or using a contract from abroad), the person has to use the international number format, e.g. +49 172 12345678 instead of the "usual" german number format 0172 12345678. Please keep special note on the left out zero in front of the network part of the number. If the person tries to send a message to +49 0172 12345678 instead, it won't work and you won't receive a message!

Thank you for helping!

  • Can you receive messages from within Germany?
    - Yes
  • Is the person trying to send you SMS using a Vodafone mobile phone / SIM card?
    - No
  • Does the person trying to send you SMS get an error message?
    - I am expecting a verification SMS from my bank which is in another country. the SMS is sent from a system, not a person, however, after talkiing to customer service and sending one during the call it still didn't arrive although they saw it was successfully sent, so they assume i'm blocked.
Is there a wasy to find out if i am truely blocked?

Thank you for helping!

This is actually a verification SMS i'm sending to "myself" for linking my Vodafine number to my bank abroad.

I tried all ways known to me to write the number, and customer service said that on their side - the SMS arrived.

I still can't see it.

One other thing that could(!) be a reason is the country of origin and the network provider used by the bank.

If the network provider does not have a respective agreement in place that allows for sending of SMS from their network to the Vodafone Germany network, then this may also be the cause.

Dear roiesh,

first of all welcome to the Vodafone Community!

Unfortunately, your requested technical query isn´t easy to answer at all.

First I would suggest you to demand a sms protocoll in written form from the represantitive of your bank as we need a proof for the SMS dispatch into the Vodafone net.

As soon as you get it (for example by e-mail), I advice you to inform us by writing a post into this thread and either me or one my colleagues will get back to you shortly after.

According to the trueness of previous posts in this thread I cannot give you my promise of solving this issue for sure.

I wish you much success and don´t hesitate informing us as soon as you have the protocoll!

Kind regards,

Jioti

Dear roiesh,

Hi roiesh,

sorry to hear that Frustrierte Smiley

I'll close this topic now. Feel free to open a new thread if your bank will hand out the protocol.

Thanks

Dave
